Local Leaders Visit Lift Ryde Sixth Form Campus Ahead of Open Evening

Lift Ryde Sixth Form Campus welcomed two distinguished visitors last week, as East Wight MP Joe Robertson, and the Isle of Wight High Sheriff, Jacqueline Gazzard, toured the site ahead of the Sixth Form’s Open Evening on Wednesday 19th November.

High Sheriff Jacqueline Gazzard met with members of the Sixth Form newsletter and journalism team, sharing insights from her impressive career in public relations for the royal palaces. Students considering future pathways in media, communications, and advertising benefited greatly from her expertise, gaining a clearer understanding of the exciting opportunities available beyond A Levels.

Meanwhile, MP Joe Robertson held a focused discussion with a small group of students, listening to the issues that matter most to young people in the East Wight. He was then given a tour of the Sixth Form facilities, where he spoke with staff about the excellent teaching, personalised pastoral support, and rich academic opportunities that Lift Ryde students receive.

The visit comes shortly after Lift Ryde Sixth Form was officially recognised as being in the top 25% nationally for A Level progress – a significant achievement that reflects the dedication of the staff, the ambition of the students, and the strength of the school community.

Lift Ryde Sixth Form will open its doors to students and families across the Isle of Wight on Wednesday 19th November, offering a chance to explore the campus, meet staff and students, and discover the wide range of courses and enrichment opportunities available.

For aspiring Sixth Formers, the message is clear: Lift Ryde 6th Form Campus is a place where ambition grows, futures are shaped, and achievement is celebrated.
