Last Tuesday saw the return of the highly requested Lift Ryde Darts championship! With the teachers’ below-par performances in the previous competition, we let the
students take centre-stage to showcase their talents in front of around 100 fans! After two weeks of qualifiers, we were left with 16 strong finalists that took the main stage (Charlie W, Ryan M, Mitchel H, Harry E, Jay R, Jenson H, Zach B, Winston H, Harrison P, Ollie E, Nathan P, Jake G, Theo M, Ronnie B, and the reigning champ, Reggie W).

The competition did not disappoint from Round 1, as all students showcased whatbrilliant talent we have here at Lift Ryde. Highlighted games saw Charlie W take out a
90 finish in two darts, Jenson H hitting a 140, and Ronnie B with two 180 scares. As the competition progressed into the quarter-finals, so did the standards these students were producing. Charlie W, Ronnie B and Mitchell H hit 140, alongside two from Reggie W. All students performed brilliantly on stage, but only 4 could make it
through to the semi-finals. This is where we saw some magic produced from our students!

Our semi-finals saw a cousin rivalry between Mitchel H and Jenson H, who both delivered consistency with their high standards. Mitchel won the tightly-fought contest and progressed into the final. This left our last semi-final between Reggie W and Ollie E, who both produced a magical 180 for the crowd! Reggie progressed into the final with a showstopping 126 finish.

Yet another cousin rivalry made its way into the final, with Mitchell H facing the reigning champion Reggie W, who produced yet another 180 alongside two 140s. This
rhythm he found ensured he retained the title as Lift Ryde champion!

A massive thank you to everybody who spectated and donated money towards both the school darts club, which will be up and running during Friday lunchtimes, and
Stan G-N, as he aims to fundraise for his trip to Kenya. We must also thank all of the staff that helped out, alongside two special students. Finley R scored every game on
stage, and Lift Ryde’s very own technical man, Milosz K, was behind the lights and sound. We also, of course, must give a huge show of appreciation to Mrs McCluskey,
who has worked her socks off to organise yet another fantastic event for our school and local community.
