Dance Live! Brilliance

On the final week of half-term, our Dance Live! crew set off across the water to compete at Portsmouth Guildhall.

After months of intense training, planning and preparation, it was finally time for our incredible team to present their finished product to a packed, live audience.

From choreography, to dance, to hairstyling and makeup, our staff and students all worked incredibly hard to devise their routine. As always, it was a collaborative and
rewarding experience, allowing students from across year groups to work together and form lasting friendships. There were also plenty of opportunities to get involved
behind the scenes as well as on stage. Participants ranged from our youngest Year 7 students, to students from our 6 Form Campus, proving that Dance unites people of
all ages.

Their heat, which saw them compete against lots of talented schools from across the country, took place on Monday 9 February. After travelling over and spending time
practising, our students had their hair and makeup done, and put on their beautiful costumes. Ready to shine on stage, our students excitedly waited their turn to show off their exceptional talent and hard work.

Our students performed incredibly and put on an exceptional show filled with heart. Their commitment and love for performance was obvious as they filled the stage with
joy and unity. Although the team unfortunately did not place this year, we are bowled over by their incredible strength and commitment, and exceptionally proud of the way they represented our school. Congratulations, team! We already cannot wait to see all that you do for next year’s performance!

An extra special thank you must go to our Dance Live! staff team (Mr Davies, Mrs Blyth, Miss Hinton, Mrs Eggby, Mr McFarlane, Miss Mildenhall and Mrs Eaton). Your passion and unwavering dedication to helping our students access such incredible opportunities is nothing short of amazing. We could not do it without such a devoted team who give it their all year-on-year!
